The end of the map - Sakhalin /

Hello folks!
Last week I was on holiday on the map's end - Sakhalin Island. That's pretty far from Moscow - 8.5 hours by a plane and +7 time difference.  Beside the distance it was an adventure as I was going to a person I've newer saw in real life )))) This February my friend organized a group in What'sapp for girls who want to change their bodies - some wanted to loose weight, some wanted to start to run etc. I wanted to start to do some exercises. This group united 7 girls from different cities: Halle (Germany), Moscow, Syktyvkar, Gelendzhik and Dolinsk (Russia). Dolinsk is the city on Sakhalin island. We talk everyday and share our small victories. We had a nice meeting in Moscow when Katya came from Halle to Moscow but this meeting was only for girls from Moscow. And we where talking about possibility to visit other girls. One day I checked tickets price from Moscow to Sakhalin and was really surprised as the price was like tickets to Europe. Alyona told me that this year russian goverment made a decision to decrease prices thus people can explore Russia. Before the tickets costed double of current price. So for me it was just a question about to get a holiday as when you have such opportunity to visit other side of your country it's a crime not to use it!
The island is really beautifull and has an amazing positive energy. Beside stunning nature you'll meet here nice and friendly people. In my opinion such people are the basis of Russia. I'm not telling that people in big cities such as Moscow or S. Petersburg are bad but people from small cities or from such far side of the country are really different! Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is the capital of the island and not that big but you can find sightseeings like museum, that locates in a former residence of japaneese governor (maybe you don't know but a part of Sakhalin was occupied by Japan), zoo - small but lovely etc. If you visit the island on bad weather you can visit an amazing spa Sparadise - very good place - clean, with a good service and not expensive at all. Here you can also take a part in International Film Festival 'On the edge' - so even if you live such far it doesn't mean you live in a last century. There are a lot of sightseeings relates to nature. First of all that's Okhotskoe sea - more salty and different from any southern sea. Here you meet such amazing sunsets and sunrises that you'll make pictures like every second! And it still won't be enough )))))
If you decide to visit the island you must to know that weather there is really different. When I was checking the weather I was thinking that it'll be like the weather in Moscow but I was wrong! The weather is warmer. For example when it was +17 with a bit of sun the real feel was like Moscow's +22+23!!! Can you imagine?
I liked the island and hope that will be back as soon as possible ))) And here are few pictures to show you the island.
Enjoy
xoxo

  1. Whoa! Such beautiful places! Thank you so much for sharing them! It's really cool to find out about new, not so common places! Initially i had thought the island was located in the northern part of Russia, but then i looked it up and was surprised to see it right next to Japan! Learning something new every day! :)

Also I hope that the train link will be built one day...it would be like an ultimate dream to be able to go from Western Europe to Japan by train
